THE GREAT FRAUD emerged in 2012, out of the embers of a few different bands. Joe Marrero (Vocals/Guitar) teamed up with long-time friend and partner in crime, Taso Zahariadis (Bass/Backing Vocals).
Eventually Joe and Taso brought in hard-hitting drummer, Tony Marchesani, to complete the group. The chemistry was so explosive, the guys decided to enter the 2012 Hard Rock Cafe Battle of the Bands, and after winning two live battles at the Hard Rock Cafe in NYC, were crowned champions of New York City.
Since those days, The Great Fraud has recorded two independent studio albums, played over 1,000 shows, and opened for legendary acts such as Johnny Winter, The Marshall Tucker Band, Vanilla Fudge and more. With the concrete decision to stay in Tristate area and build their musical foundation, local residents are now being exposed to a dynamic vintage sound which has led to their loyal rising fan base, affectionately known as “Fraudsters”.
